Coffee Finca Gascón Lactic Natural
Sourcing note
Just fifteen minutes from Antigua, Guatemala's former colonial capital, Finca Gascón sits high on a mountain, at the end of a steep, rain-slicked track. In just a few years, Felipe Contreras, a young farmer, has transformed this declining farm into a magnificent succession of forested hillside plots planted with noble varieties - typica, geisha and caturra. Everything here is organic, thanks to the “bio fabrica” where the various fertilizers applied according to specific soil regeneration needs, natural fungicides and other coffee care preparations are produced. Science at the service of nature and quality. Yet further proof that preserving ecosystems is not only compatible with coffee production, but is also a prerequisite for producing living, complex and unique coffees that reflect the health of the soils from which they are grown. Felipe Contreras is an example for a whole new generation of coffee growers.

Tasting Notes
Nose : notes of cooked red fruit.
On the palate : strawberry and blackberry follow one another and intensify, with hints of exotic fruit in both warm and cold tastes.
The long finish is reminiscent of 70% dark chocolate.
