I. Collection of personal data: General information

On 25 May 2018, the European Commission introduced a set of laws affecting companies operating in Europe, known as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This law has been introduced to protect internet users from data leaks and improper use of personal data.  The company is therefore required to inform its visitors of how the data that it collects will be processed. Terres de Café, simplified limited company with share capital of €220,000, with a registered office at 14 Rue Rambuteau, Paris, France, is responsible for the processing of your personal data. By using the www.terresdecafe.com website, you give your consent for the company to collect, record, store and use your data in accordance with the privacy policy.

II. Collecting confidential data: What information, when and why?

Orders:

 

When you place an order, we collect your email address, full name, postal address and phone number so that we can prepare your order and deliver your parcel. We share this data with our carrier, who is responsible for delivering your parcels (La Poste Colissimo). Our carrier is not permitted to use your data for reasons other than processing your order and must delete this data from their computer systems after processing. If you select a delivery address outside Europe, your data will be shared with the carrier's logistics partners, who will deliver to your address in the destination country. Order data is kept for five years from the date of order.  Invoices are kept for 10 years.

 

Referrals or orders sent to third parties:

 

You may enter the contact details of a third party when placing your order or making a referral. If you choose to do so, the shared data of third parties will be only be used by Terres de Café to process the order. In such cases, you provide an assurance to Terres de Café that the person whose data you have shared is aware that you have shared their personal data with us.

 

Email notifications:

 

We may send you notifications by email regarding your order or changes in how we provide our services.

 

Newsletter:

 

We use your email address to send you our newsletters containing information about our products and our latest news, only where you have subscribed. Should you no longer wish to receive newsletters from us, you can unsubscribe at any time by clicking "Stop receiving emails from Terres de Café" located at the bottom of our newsletters. You can also unsubscribe in your customer account on www.terresdecafe.com, by going to your account / your personal information.  Simply untick the "receive our newsletter" box.  Your request will take effect immediately.

 

Advertising:

 

Like most online retailers, Terres de Café records your browsing activity on its website in order to display advertisements when you browse other websites. These advertisements do not use any personal data.  Third-party websites that display our advertisements do not have access to yourdetails. Should you no longer wish to see our advertisements, you can delete the cookies on your browser (see section on cookies).

 

Social media:

 

If you use Facebook to create your Terres de Café account, we only collect your email address, full name and your Facebook account ID. We do not have access to your photos, friends list, posts, etc. III. Exercising your rights: How to amend or delete your data  In accordance with applicable law, you have the right to access, correct and erase your personal data. You also have a right of objection, rectification and restriction of the processing of your personal data (visit www.cnil.fr for more information about your rights). Most of your data can be amended directly in your customer account space on our website. IV. Use of your data

Terres de Café shall not transfer or sell any of your personal data.


V. Cookies

Cookies are text files that are stored in a dedicated space on the hard drive of your computer by the browser that you use to visit our website, subject to your browser's cookie settings. These files allow the sender to identify the device on which they are recorded, for the length of time that the cookies are recorded or are valid.
