History & Expertise

Founded in Paris in 2009 by Christophe Servell, awarded Best Roaster in France, Terres de Café is a pioneer in the world of specialty coffee.

Thanks to a rigorous and enlightened sourcing approach, focused on discovering the best coffee-growing regions and meeting the women and men who cultivate them, Terres de Café actively contributes to the emergence and development of a new coffee industry.

Christophe Servell,

a passion for specialty coffee

Christophe Servell, founder of the brand, has been traveling through coffee-producing countries for years in search of the world’s finest coffees. Over time, this son and grandson of roasters has built strong business and personal relationships with some of the most highly awarded and quality-focused coffee producers.

He thus ensures the exclusive sourcing of the finest coffees for Terres de Café.

To him, the responsibility of a specialty coffee roaster is to serve as a transparent link between the origin and the consumer, and to build a community of trust around a product of excellence.

In 2024, Christophe Servell was honored by his peers with the Outstanding Achievement Award at the European Coffee Symposium in Berlin.

Roasting, quality control, and freshness

Roasting coffee is the second transformation of the product. It is during this process that the roaster reveals the aromas contained within the beans.

Each coffee is unique in terms of bean size, density, moisture content, and profile, and therefore deserves a highly precise and tailored roasting curve — always with the guiding principle of honoring what the terroir has to offer.

To achieve the highest precision, Terres de Café offers two different roasts for its finest coffees: one suited for espresso extraction, and another designed for gentle brewing methods (filter, French press, Aeropress, etc.).

All our coffees are roasted in Île-de-France on our 7kg, 35kg, and 70kg Loring roasters, with zero carbon emissions.

Coffee store and coffee shop

Our expert baristas are trained in coffeeology, and some are champions in multiple categories. Enriched by this level of excellence, our Coffee Shops have become landmarks in the world of specialty coffee.

They are the ideal place to discover the complexity of coffee-growing regions and to enjoy a unique experience by tasting an espresso, a filter brew, a latte, or even an Ibrik — the modernized version of Turkish coffee, for which two of our baristas, Pierre de Chantérac and Jordan Tachnakian, were crowned World Champions in 2023 and 2024.

Here, every coffee is served as one would serve a fine wine, because each cup carries within it a producer, a terroir, and a singular story that our baristas passionately strive to share and bring to life.
