Pepe Jijón - La Soledad - Geisha Wave - Légendes
“I am a specialty coffee producer, it is a lifestyle that I have chosen and I live every day of my life as a reward.” Former mountaineer, hyper active, colorful and funny, always positive, Pepe Jijón built his dream by producing haute couture coffees with his family at the top of a mountain of course! His life is punctuated by harvests, fermentations and whenever possible, by trips to meet the large community of coffee enthusiasts. Very inspired by Panama, its coffees are at the forefront of Ecuadorian production, all in purity and Delicacy. Pepe was voted the most outstanding producer 2024 by the specialist magazine SPRUDGE. Sourcing note
Perched on the top of a mountain completely reforested by the Jijón family, this micro farm is a delight. The house built of bamboo makes us lose our bearings, could we be in Bali? There, Pepe, Monique and their son Juan supervise all the production, with the help of another family who lives in another house on the property. Here, only two varieties, Sidra and Geisha, and ultra-controlled fermentations, and very long dryings, protected from light, which strongly distinguish the profiles of the coffees, all finesse and length.

Tasting note
