Jose "Pocho" Gallardo - Nuguo - Geisha Natural - Légendes
Is Pocho the best coffee producer in the world? If such a classification had been relevant, surely! This boy, so friendly, is a scientific maniac about processes, and an instinctive person when it comes to planting. His high altitude Nuguo farm, almost inaccessible, is a walk in the forest punctuated by coffee clearings. The plant management is minimalist while all the parameters of its fermentations are entirely controlled. Each cherry has its identity card, it’s purely incredible and it is perhaps this combination which gives birth to moving, elegant, brilliant and so rare coffees. Best of Panama Award Winner 2021.

Sourcing note
No other farmhouse looks like Nuguo, so much like its owner. Modest and ravishing in its expression. The farm is a forest, with no coffee trees underneath, and on the hillsides, unshaded, amid flowers and wild grasses, gigantic coffee trees, veritable Christmas trees. Each tree is harvested separately to form a batch. This batch is then separated into cherries from the bottom of the basket, and those from the top. Never placed in the sun, they spend little time on the farm, and are transported to the small, high-tech, air-conditioned drying laboratory in the garden of Pocho Gallardo's home. Each cherry then undergoes a specific process according to the desired result, entirely traced thanks to software designed and produced by Pocho. Haute couture for incredible batches, and very low yields. 500kg on average for five hectares cultivated! And it's repeatedly won the Barista Cup USA, and the “Best of Panama”, one of the most prestigious competitions.
