Tom Bagaza Taba Hills
Tom is a singular character, gentle, tall and determined. His grandfather was a farmer here, but he was born in a refugee camp in Burundi after his father had to flee the pogroms against the Hutus that followed the country's independence in the 1960s.
He returned to his country after the genocide at the turn of the 20th century, studied agriculture in Kigali and had one idea in mind: to return to his family's village and set up a system to add value to coffee production and increase producers' incomes.
After twenty years of work, setbacks and small victories, his system is up and running.
