Marcala Ceiba is a coffee from organic farming with character but which remains very consensual. We appreciate the careful work of this cooperative, a historical player in organic coffee farming.

What is a score?
Our range is segmented by Score: 80+, 85+, 88+
We owe the "scores" to the "Specialty Coffee Association of America" which has defined a very strict rating protocol to assess the quality of specialty coffee. This rating allows industry players and amateurs to have a common language. During this tasting protocol, the main criteria for evaluating a coffee are noted: smell, aroma, aftertaste, acidity, body, harmony, purity ... The final score classifies the coffee in a hierarchy specific to coffee specialty. The coffee must reach a minimum score of 80/100 to be considered a specialty coffee.
The details of the scores attributed to the specialty coffee:
*The SCAA calls the 90+ "Outstanding". We believe that an 88+ reflects an already exceptional quality and represents the excellence of the sector. As such, it is a Grand Cru.
The Marcala region, southwest of La Paz is known for the exceptional quality of its coffees, possibly the best in Honduras. Today, we mainly find Typica plantations, a variety that has adapted particularly well to the climate and altitude.
